My work as a composer/songwriter is focused on how each individual’s awareness, or cluelessness, contributes to the social, environmental and cultural divide that defines our time. The nature of our social psychology encourages us to thrive on multi-layered illusions that lead us to deny simple facts in favor of curving logic, and this is a central theme of each of my projects.
I like to use traditional rock instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, piano, strings and voice, and layer the simple arrangements with soundscapes, beats and synth. Sometimes I incorporate additional earth elements such as the sounds of a wood burning fire, crickets, birds, thunder, and water as well as voice messages or recorded interviews/conversations.
For every musical project, I collaborate with artists working in different mediums to explore deeper meanings or to discover alternate approaches to the meaning of the compositions.
